Kindergarten News March 10th-14th
Next week:
Reading- We will begin “One Little Mouse” by
Doris Chaconas. It is classified as a rhyming/concept story and the
comprehension skill that will be taught throughout this lesson is “sequence”.
Science- We will be learning about animal
habitats, animal movements, and animal characteristics.
Math- We will be finishing up unit #8 and
then beginning unit #9. The children will be composing and decomposing #’s to
ten.
Phonics-We will be learning about the letter
“J” and it sound as in jar and joke.
Your child can have a “joke” ready to tell the class for show and tell
instead of bringing any items into school on Friday.
The “I’m a Reader “form should be returned to
the teacher the next week March-10thwith a parent signature and
initial for each day of the week. This
is an optional activity, but the children that participate will get a
certificate at the end of the year.
Note:
I have three
navy blue sweaters that no one has claimed.
If your daughter lost their sweater please let me know.
I am having
many students forget their snacks each day, please remember that we do have
snack time every day, and it is very upsetting when your child forgets their
snack.
We will be
going outside for recess so made sure that your child is dressed appropriately.
Monday will
be day 1A on our school rotation, and we will have Art class with Mrs. Zink
Have a great
weekend!
